Are you scouting for one or two quick supper ideas to fix for your spouse and children tonight? Immediately after a long day of work or watching over the children, it can be difficult to put together ideas for a quick meal. Let's take a look at things you can do to think of a quick supper idea that will work for you and your loved ones.

Before anything else, check what you currently have at home. Most meals can easily be broken down into one main course and two side dishes. For the main course look for some kind of healthy protein that you could use. Red meat, poultry, fish, pork, or any sort of other meat will work just fine.

When you've picked out the healthy protein, you need to determine how to cook it. If you have a favorite recipe, perfect. If not, Just type the name of whatever meat you have on hand along with the word "recipe" into bing or any other search engine. So for example, if you already have a bit of chicken in the freezer or fridge, look up "chicken recipe." You can be more specific if you know of a second ingredient that you specifically intend to include. In the event that you see some lemons in the kitchen, try including that in your query to narrow down your options. See? Coming up with some quick supper ideas is not so tough after all.

If you do not want to look up a recipe, you can usually just fix just about anything that you have in a skillet with a bit of oil and any spices or herbs you have got. Coconut oil does well, but whatever you like to cook with is just fine. Toss the oil in the skillet over low heat until it sizzles a bit and toss the meat in. Now look in the spice rack and find out what is concealing itself in there. If you like spicy food, try throwing some curry powder on your dish. If you want milder flavors, maybe just some garlic powder and salt and fresh pepper will work for you.

Now that you have the meat going, it's about time to choose what side dishes you want to serve with it. If you have any fresh vegetables lying around, grab immediately and start chopping! While preparation methods usually vary based on the vegetable, Here are two that are broadly feasible for all kinds of quick supper ideas.

1. Toss it in the oven with olive oil, salt, and pepper. This usually works for almost any vegetable and requires very little preparation. Cut up any vegetables you have got. Mix them with olive oil, sea salt, and fresh cracked pepper. Lay them on a cookie sheet and wrap with tin foil. Throw them in the oven and wait. Remember to check in on them every now and then so that they don't burn. Generally speaking potatoes cook the slowest whereas green vegetables such as broccoli and brussel sprouts cook relatively fast.

2. Boil/Steam it. This is even easier than baking. Slice up any veggies you have got and toss them in a cooking pot of boiling water. If you have got a steamer, that it even better because steamed vegetables almost always end up a little bit tastier than boiled ones. Once they have cooked down to be tender, lay them on a plate to cool down and throw on some seasoning or spices. Salt and fresh pepper perform the job just fine if you want to keep it hassle-free, but it's fine to try new combinations.

Finished! Simple, right? Remember anytime you are attempting to come up with a quick supper idea you may use these simple steps to easily cook a tasty meal.
